Questions

Calculator questions

How accurate is this estimate?
It is a planning estimate, not a filed return. The calculator applies the stated state, regional and savings scales to the figures you enter, but it does not know all your deductions, other income or family circumstances. A tax advisor should confirm the figure before you file.
What is the Beckham Law comparison?
The regimen especial de impatriados is a flat-rate election for qualifying newcomers to Spain: 24% on Spanish-source employment or professional income up to €600,000 a year, and 47% above that threshold. The toggle compares that figure with the ordinary progressive result for the same income. The Beckham Law page covers eligibility and the application deadline.
How much tax do you pay on €70,000 of income in Spain?
The amount depends on the autonomous community, the type of income and any savings income. Enter 70,000, choose the applicable region and income type, and the calculator will run the relevant bands.
Does this calculate tax for every autonomous community?
No. It currently covers Madrid, Cataluna, Comunidad Valenciana and Andalucia. Do not substitute one of those regions for another: each autonomous community sets its own half of the general income-tax scale.
Do non-residents pay the same income tax as residents?
No. Non-residents are taxed under the Impuesto sobre la Renta de No Residentes, a separate regime this calculator does not compute. Non-resident tax in Spain covers the IRNR rates and Modelo 210.
Can I use this if I am self-employed?
Yes, for an estimate of the income-tax portion. Choose self-employment and enter net business income. This tool does not add the separate RETA Social Security contribution; use the autonomo tax calculator for that combined estimate.
Does it include employee Social Security contributions?
No. The employment field assumes employee Social Security contributions have already been removed from the figure entered for IRPF purposes. Check the field guidance and treat the result as an income-tax estimate.
Does the calculator store my information?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. Figures entered in the calculator are not sent to Advisors in Spain or stored on its server.
Should I use this instead of a tax advisor?
No. Use it to estimate and compare scenarios. A tax advisor can account for deductions, family circumstances, other income and rules outside the calculator's scope before filing.
